The Stoughton High boys' soccer team rallied, but couldn't over Sharon's quick start, dropping a 3-2 decision at home.
Stoughton started off the game slow and unreactive, quickly letting Sharon get off to a 2-0 lead going into halftime, with Stoughton only having four shoots in the first half. After coming off a slow start, Stoughton began to show some fire and authority to the game. With 20 minutes left in the game and now down 3-0, Stoughton's junior Richard Gonsalves netted a goal from inside the 18. Three minutes after Richard Gonsalves scored, Stoughton's Philipi Olaf came from the back and put a second goal on the board for Stoughton. With the score now Sharon 3 and Stoughton 2, time was favoring Sharon. Stoughton continued to attack hard and aggressive for the remaining 10 minutes of the game, even out shooting Sharon in that time, 9-1. Strong on the final attack for Stoughton were seniors Russell Katz, midfielder and Victor Lemos, a defensive midfielder. Stoughton's next game is this Monday at King Phillip, start time is at 3:30 p.m.
