Stoughton High Honored for Sportsmanship

SHS has finished in 1st place within the Hockomock League for the past 3 years in Sportsmanship votes.  On Friday November 18th, Stoughton High was honored at Gillette Stadium by the MIAA winning the Discrict C sportsmanship award.  Only 8 schools our of 377 were recipients of this award that recognizes charachter in high school athletes.  Congrats to all of Stoughton Athletes for representing their town with Class!

2012 Spring Sports Registrations: February 29th - Big Gym
Spring Sports Registration:February 29th -March 9th, 2012 - Refer Pre-Participation Info Below:
1.Physical Exams- No student may participate in any practice, tryout or game this Spring until a physical exam has been submitted  to the Stoughton High School Nurses office. The physical exam must be since February 19, 2011.
2.Permission & Agreement Form(s); Must be submitted and cleared by Athletic Director.  Please do not leave any section of this form Blank. Forms are available in Athletic Office Hallway, and online. Please visit the ā€œFor Familiesā€ section on the SPS home page to attain both of these documents. Students can not try-out for teams unless they have submitted a completed Permission &       Agreement form to the Athletic Director.
3. Participation Fees (CASH or Money Order ONLY) - This year's cost/student for playing a sport is $200, However it is $300.00 for any student participating in Swimming or Ice Hockey.  Please read details about the Athletic Fee & Payment Plan options below. Due date for the Athletic Payment is December 8th.

Sign ups:
Every Season of Athletics Sign-ups happen weeks before the first date of tryouts. If you are looking to committ and participate, you need to contact Mr. Donahue Immediately. Contact information listed at the bottom of the web page.

Paperwork  (Permission and Agreement forms)
All paper work will be due by: Dates vary each season.
You can find the paper work in the Athletic Office, and will soon be available online (*If you are having problems downloading the form, go to http://www.adobe.com~to download the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader)

Physical
An ā€œup to dateā€ Physical needs to be on file in the Nurses’ Office before the Student will be allowed to participate.  ā€œUp to dateā€ is defined as a physical exam completed within 13 months of the start of the sports season. For the Spring season, the Physical must have a date of  February 19, 2011 or more recent. Any questions please contact the School Nurses' office (X 1248) or the Athletic Trainer (603.380.0170).  This date is non-negotiable, the Spring season begins on March 19th, if you do not have an up-to-date physical in our school files by the 1st day of tryouts, you will be ineligible to tryout.

Athletic Fee: CASH or MONEY ORDER ONLY Personal Checks will not be accepted.

The student obligation to participate in athletics is $200.00 for the school year ($300 for Ice Hockey & Swim) ~That obligation is PAST DUE for the Winter season if you have not paid it as of yet. ~If Mr. Donahue has not received your user fee you may become ineligible until the payment is submitted. Ask Mr. Donahue about the Payment Plan that you might qualify for.

HALL OF FAME
The Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce the 2009 Induction Class. The inductees include Edmund Rafalko ’42, Joanne Durant ā€˜93, Leonard Parent ’22 (posthumously), George Sarados ’52 and Jeff Russell ’71.
